• Designing the belt drive and RP2040 controller retrofit in Autodesk Fusion, with a costed BOM and BS 8888 drawings.
• Writing the motion-control firmware in C++.
• Testing repeatability against a ±0.05 mm target with a dial gauge.

• Reverse-engineered Xbox and GameCube button mechanisms; designed module and daughterboard PCBs in KiCad to work with the client’s existing keyboard.
• Made the modules detachable via JST connectors to suit different hand sizes; iterated the contact pads through testing.
• Wrote the firmware in embedded C.

Team of six · Chassis design · CAD

• Autonomous robot to climb a 2.2 m pipe and lift a chain, with analogue control only, per competition rules.
• Designed the acrylic and PLA chassis around a removable motor and battery cassette.
• Produced all CAD models and assemblies in Fusion for the IMechE design submission.
• Final device: 1.32 kg, £78.80.
